What were some highlights of your career starting out?
I was fortunate enough to move to Europe when I was 20 years old and be paid to ride some of the best horses in the world. It taught me the feeling of riding a nice well made horse and what we are trying to achieve when training and scouting young talent.
What was the best advice someone gave you as you were starting out?
Look behind the barn, don’t be afraid to ask questions or talk to people that others might be intimidated to go up to.
What were some challenges you needed to overcome?
I don’t like to focus on the challenges, but the long term goals and work backwards, everyone has a different set of cards in life, and it’s just a matter of figuring out which cards you are going to put forward on any given day.
