 Best Advice Ever Received?
Don’t give up and try your best every day.

Worst Advice Ever Received?
I’m not sure there is worst advice, I listen to everyone and then make my own decisions.  I can’t blame anyone but myself.

When did you know this would be your career path?
I recently found an interview from my English class when I was a junior in high school, I wrote about wanting to be a professional rider and gave a presentation to the class about it.

What were some highlights of your career starting out?
I was fortunate enough to move to Europe when I was 20 years old and be paid to ride some of the best horses in the world.  It taught me the feeling of riding a nice well made horse and what we are trying to achieve when training and scouting young talent.

What was the best advice someone gave you as you were starting out?
Look behind the barn, don’t be afraid to ask questions or talk to people that others might be intimidated to go up to.

What were some challenges you needed to overcome?
I don’t like to focus on the challenges, but the long term goals and work backwards, everyone has a different set of cards in life, and it’s just a matter of figuring out which cards you are going to put forward on any given day.

Where do you go to find inspiration?
The warm up ring to watch my competitors.  There are so many inspiring people in the sport, from the owners that are successful in their businesses to the grooms that work so hard to provide for their families in other countries.

What does the next 5 years look like – what would you like to achieve?
In the next five years I’d like to continue to bring along more young horses up into the Grand Prix ranks, of course anyone that is a professional would be lying if they didn’t say it was to represent their country in the Olympic games, I’d love to do that on a horse that I produce myself from the beginning up through international level competition (as I have previously done but not made it to the Olympics).
